"Our Autumn Newsletter"

We hope that this letter finds you all well.

Autumn is once again upon us with the leaves of the magnificent oak trees in our lane turning golden brown and falling. Mild days, crystal clear blue skies and cold nights are back this autumn in Joburg, making our BOMA once again a big hit amongst our guests. BTW – you can win yourself a “nice cold castle” or something else to drink, if you can tell us on arrival at the lodge, what “BOMA” stands for?

It is hard to believe that Alida and I have been living at and managing  Journey's Inn Africa *** Guest Lodge for just over a year. It has been a challenging and interesting venture, which has required a lot of hard work. Although not much work has been done on the actual lodge in the last couple of months, we have been extremely busy with the marketing of the lodge, as well as trying to iron out a lot of the little problems unseen to our guests. This has helped us to double the occupancy and also run a smoother, more efficient lodge.

We have however started on some exciting new projects:

  • An overdue “make over” - we have started to fix and paint the roof.
  • We are building a new outside fire place (BOMA).
  • Started to erect road signs for the lodge.

We are glad to say that all the staff have been keeping well and Nicolene (a very sharp receptionist) has joined our ranks.

We hope to see you soon at  Journey's Inn Africa *** Guest Lodge, either when you are travelling through or visiting Kempton Park - Johannesburg.
